Overview

The Trademark Search tool provides access to Chinese trademark databases via the Anpai API. Search for trademarks, analyze similar marks, and research brand applicants to protect your intellectual property and make informed business decisions.

Brand Analysis

Analyze trademark portfolios by brand or applicant
The most flexible search mode with multiple filter options.

Available Filters

  1. Open the Trademark Search page from the Information Dashboard
  2. Select Comprehensive Search tab
  3. Enter your search criteria in one or more fields
  4. Click Search to view results
  5. Browse results with pagination controls

Search Results

Each result displays:
  • Trademark name (Chinese and English)
  • Nice classification
  • Current status
  • Applicant name
Expanding a result reveals additional details:
  • Registration number
  • Application, registration, and validity dates
  • Goods/Services covered
  • Similar groups

AI Translation

Trademark details returned from the Chinese database can be automatically translated to English using AI (Gemini 2.0 Flash). This covers fields such as applicant names, goods/services descriptions, and other Chinese-language data, making results accessible to English-speaking users without manual translation. Find trademarks that may conflict with your brand or identify potential infringement.

Similarity Types

  • Visual Similarity: Marks that look similar
  • Phonetic Similarity: Marks that sound similar when spoken
  • Conceptual Similarity: Marks with similar meanings

How to Use

  1. Select the Similar Marks tab
  2. Enter the trademark name to compare
  3. Optionally select specific Nice classes to narrow results
  4. Click Search to find similar marks
  5. Review similarity scores and potential conflicts

Brand/Applicant Analysis

Research the trademark portfolio of a specific company or brand.

Analysis Features

  • Portfolio Overview: See all trademarks owned by an applicant
  • Class Distribution: Understand which categories they’ve protected
  • Timeline: View application history over time
  • Status Breakdown: See registered vs. pending vs. rejected marks

How to Analyze

  1. Select the Brand Analysis tab
  2. Enter the applicant/company name
  3. Click Analyze to generate the report
  4. Review the portfolio breakdown and statistics

Nice Classification Reference

Trademarks are organized into 45 classes under the Nice Classification system:

Goods (Classes 1-34)

For vaping products, relevant classes typically include Class 34 (tobacco and smokers’ articles) and Class 11 (apparatus for lighting, heating, steam generating).

Best Practices

Begin with a simple name search, then add filters to refine results if you get too many matches.
Your brand may need protection in multiple Nice classes. Search each relevant class separately.
Always run a similar marks search before filing a new trademark to identify potential conflicts early.
Use brand analysis to understand your competitors’ trademark strategies and identify gaps.
